LESSON 7 OF 8

Lesson 7: Lesson 7 · Consider the suffering Messiah

Targum Jonathan names the Messiah at Isaiah 52:13. Sanhedrin 98b applies Isaiah 53:4 to him. Other texts and prayers develop the relationship between Messiah, suffering and the sins of Israel. These sources do not all teach the same doctrine, but they make a blanket denial of messianic interpretation impossible. I01 I02 I03 I04

Shema World reads Isaiah's servant as fulfilled in Yeshua. The full study explains why, considers the national and remnant readings and examines the difficult details instead of skipping them.

Check your understanding

Does a rabbi applying a verse to Messiah necessarily identify Yeshua?
