Privacy and your information
How we handle the information you choose to share with Shema World.
Information you provide
When forms are enabled, we may collect the name, email address, subject, and message you submit. Prayer requests can be public, anonymous, or reserved for leaders. Adult and parent-managed learning accounts store an email address, securely hashed password, assigned classes, and study progress.
Who can access it
Contact messages and private prayers are stored in restricted server files and reviewed by authorized staff. Public prayer requests require approval before they are displayed. Requests marked “leaders only” are never published.
Children and families
Children should not register directly or provide personal details. Family learning profiles are managed by an adult and require only a non-identifying practice nickname.
External services
Weekly readings use Hebcal data. Zoom links, maps, and other external providers, once configured, also operate under their own privacy terms.
Retention and requests
We keep information as needed for its stated purpose and until reviewed or deleted by the team. You may request access, correction, or deletion through the Contact page. Some records may be retained for security or legal reasons.
Security
We use HTTPS and server access controls on the deployed website. No system is infallible. Please avoid including unnecessary medical, financial, or personal information in public forms.
